Dominichi Miranda de Sá

Dominichi Miranda de Sá earned her bachelor’s degree in History from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro in 1995 and her master’s and PhD in Social History from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1999 and 2003. She did doctoral research at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris from 2001 to 2002. She was a substitute instructor at the UFRJ Department of History from 2002 to 2003 and a postdoctoral fellow at PPGHCSin 2008. She is a researcher with the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz Research Department and professor with PPGHCS. Shecurrently serves onthe team of the Fiocruz Office of Institutional Engagement, the Consultative Board of the Brazilian Society of the History of Science (SBHC), the PPGHCS Graduate Committee, the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz Technical Chamber on Education, and the Fiocruz Technical Chamber on Health and the Environment. Her teaching interests include the theory of history; intellectual history; environmental history; and the history of the sciences. Her research interests cover twentieth-century scientific journeys and inventories of the Brazilian territory; the twentieth-century history of the conservation and preservation of nature; the history of ecology; and the impact of development projects on public health and the environment.
